Customs seize Gold worth Rs 38 lakh at Kannur Airport

Kannur: Airport Police on Saturday seized 728 grams of smuggled gold valued around Rs 38 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Sharjah in an Air India Express flight.
Mattanur Circle Inspector A Kuttikrishnan-led team arrested the accused Nazeem Ahamed of Naravoor near Koothuparamba in the district in this connection.
The smuggled gold was in compound form which was concealed in three capsules kept in his rectum. (UNI)
