Cricket Confirmed for LA Olympics 2028: Full Schedule Released

Los Angeles  (America) : In a historic decision, cricket is set to make its Olympic return at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, after a gap of over 128 years. The official schedule released by the LA28 Organizing Committee confirms that T20 format cricket matches will be held from July 12 to July 29, 2028.

This inclusion of cricket marks a major milestone for the International Cricket Council (ICC), which has been actively pushing for the sport’s return to the Olympics to boost its global footprint. The last and only time cricket featured in the Olympics was in 1900 in Paris, where only two teams participated.

The LA Olympics will feature both men’s and women’s T20 cricket, giving equal opportunities to showcase the sport on a global platform. The tournament is expected to attract participation from major cricketing nations such as India, England, Australia, Pakistan, and several emerging teams like USA, Namibia, Germany, and more.
