Congress insulted Kharge’ji, remote control is with a family: Modi

BELAGAVI: PM modi blamed congress on Monday of insulting and disrespecting its president Mallikarjun Kharge during the recent plenary session in Chhattisgarh, suggesting he is only a figurehead and that “someone” else holds the reins.
“The weather was hot and everyone standing there (at the plenary session) was feeling the heat, but Kharge did not even have the shade of an umbrella,” Modi said at a rally here. “The umbrella’s shade was for someone standing next to him. This shows Kharge is Congress president just for the sake of it and is being remote-controlled by a family.” He was alluding to the Gandhis although he didn’t name them.
He showered praise on Kharge but criticized “dynastic political families”. “I have great respect for Kharge ji, a son of this land who has 50 years of parliamentary or legislative experience,” he said.
