CM Saini Performs Deepdaan at Sannihit Sarovar on Gita Jayanti, Vedic Chants Echo Across the Mahotsav
Chandigarh Haryana Chief Minister CM Saini on Monday performed Deepdaan at the ancient Sannihit Sarovar during the International Gita Mahotsav-2025 and said that the spiritual message of the Bhagavad Gita will continue to spread across the world through this holy Deepotsav. He stated that celebrating the Deepotsav on the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti at the sacred banks of Sannihit Sarovar is a matter of pride for every resident of Haryana. During the Deepdaan ceremony, the atmosphere around the Sarovar was enriched with the sound of Vedic chants, the echo of conch shells, and the glow of thousands of lamps. On this occasion, CM Saini was accompanied by Gita scholar Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Tourism Minister Arvind Sharma, and former Minister Subhash Sudha, who also offered Deepdaan. Various religious and social organisations extended a grand welcome to the Chief Minister upon his arrival. CM Saini said that Kurukshetra is the sacred land where Lord Shri Krishna delivered the divine teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. Even today, the wisdom of the Gita continues to guide humanity. He added that the International Gita Mahotsav sends a universal message of unity, peace, and righteousness to the world. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the principles of the Gita, illuminated through this Deepotsav, will bring progress and enlightenment to people across the globe. The Chief Minister extended special gratitude to the Tirthodgaar Brahmin Mahasabha for organising the grand Deepdaan ceremony. He said that the lighting of thousands of lamps along the banks of Brahma Sarovar by various organisations has further strengthened the region’s spiritual and cultural heritage, and he congratulated everyone involved. The event was attended by Zila Parishad Chairperson Kanwaljit Kaur, KDB Honorary Secretary Upender Singhal, Chairman Dharamveer Mirzapur, and several other dignitaries. The entire area was filled with devotion and enthusiasm as the celebrations of Gita Jayanti continued. The Deepotsav, held as part of the International Gita Mahotsav, represents a beautiful blend of tradition and spirituality, aiming to spread the profound teachings of the Gita to every section of society. CM Saini emphasized that such events not only strengthen Haryana’s cultural identity but also connect the entire world with India’s rich spiritual legacy.
