CM Nayab Singh Saini Honours Nation’s ‘Change Makers’ at Tribune Achievers Awards–2025
Chandigarh; – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini today honoured distinguished individuals from across the country at The Tribune Achievers Awards–2025, praising them as “Change Makers” whose exceptional contributions in education, medicine, sports, industry, science, culture, entrepreneurship and social service are strengthening the nation’s progress.
Addressing the ceremony organised by The Tribune Trust, the Chief Minister congratulated all awardees and commended The Tribune’s legacy of public service, describing the 145-year-old institution as a pillar of integrity, courage and journalistic excellence. He recalled the visionary work of Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, founder of The Tribune in 1881, who donated his entire property to establish the Trust and ensured its independence by keeping family members out of its governance.
The Chief Minister highlighted that The Tribune was the only newspaper that continued uninterrupted publication during the Partition — from Lahore on August 14 and from Shimla on August 15, 1947 — reflecting its unwavering commitment to public welfare.
He said that achievers from diverse fields symbolise determination, discipline and innovation, and their excellence stands as a powerful inspiration for India’s youth. “You are not just successful individuals, but beacons of light who show the path forward even in darkness,” he said.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to recognizing merit, the Chief Minister listed Haryana’s award ecosystem for educators, scientists, women achievers, government employees, athletes, artists, labourers and social contributors. He specifically mentioned the State Teacher Awards, Haryana Vigyan Ratna Awards, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Good Governance Awards, Kalpana Chawla Haryana Solar Award, and several women-centric awards including the Sushma Swaraj Award and Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award.
He also highlighted the contribution of the Haryana CSR Advisory Board, which provides a unified platform for individuals, companies, entrepreneurs and organisations engaged in social service, and appreciated the philanthropic culture of Haryana’s industries and citizens.
Calling upon the awardees to mentor the next generation, the Chief Minister said that true progress lies in empowering others. “If today’s achiever prepares 100 achievers for tomorrow, the dream of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ envisioned by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi Ji can be realised even before 2047,” he said.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also stated that today is also the Parinirvana Diwas of the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar, and paid tributes to him.
The Chief Minister described the Tribune Achievers Awards–2025 as more than a felicitation ceremony, calling it a National Movement that recognises talent, inspires excellence and strengthens the resolve of a rising India.
