CM Khattar: Haryana will always continue to have right on Chandigarh
Chandigarh, April 3: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that Haryana had, has and will continue to have a right on Chandigarh. Khattar elaborated that the Government stands firmly on this issue and the people of the state are also with them. He said that it’s only been some time since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has formed its Government in Punjab and it has already started raising such a controversial issue, which is incorrect. The Chief Minister was speaking to media persons after laying the foundation stone of various projects under Smart City in Karnal on Sunday. Responding to a query related to corruption, he said that the government is against corruption and it will take strict action wherever corruption charges are corroborated. He said that during the tenure of the present government, several services have been digitized in order to curtail corruption. It has been possible to send the perpetrators of corruption behind bars due to digitization. These kinds of proactive measures and steps were never adopted by previous governments. Replying to another question related to the procurement of crops, Khattar said that the arrival of crops is not much in the mandis, however, the government is fully prepared for the procurement of crops. He said that all arrangements are being monitored. Speaking on the prices of petrol and diesel, the Chief Minister said that their prices depend on the international market. With the rise of crude oil prices, the price of petrol and diesel increases all over the world. This situation is prevalent across the world. Responding to another query regarding 134-A, he said that now poor children will get more opportunities. Earlier only 10 per cent poor children used to get the benefit of 134-A while as per the new system up to 25 per cent poor children would get the opportunity to study. “Today, children from private schools in Haryana are taking admission in government’s Model Sanskriti Schools,” he said and added that no child will quit education due to financial implications.
