Cloudburst hits a village in Dharamshala
Dharamshala: A cloudburst was reported around 3:00 pm on Friday at Sokni Daa Kot area on the outskirts of Dharamshala, triggering a flash flood in which shops and vehicles were washed away.
Meanwhile, Kangra valley was lashed by heavy rains.
Today at 3.00 pm cloudburst was reported 50 meters away from Indru Nag Temple.
Seven shops at Khaniyara and some vehicles were swept away in the flash floods. A ration depot was among the shops which washed away in the water.
According to the reports, road was also damaged and an electric transformer washed away.
Police said that a few vehicles, including some scooters, were washed away. The mud entered some houses.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra Dr Jindal, no loss of life reported.
Dharamshala MLA Vishal Nehiria visited the spot. Local demanded that affected-people should be helped by the government.
Fire brigade and NDRF teams reached the spot soon after getting the information of the cloudburst. The authorities also reached the spot to provide relief and rehabilitation to the needy. (UNI) (pics credits-News18 and Times Now)
