CISF Facilitates Study Programme for Visiting Officers from Nepal Armed Police Force

New Delhi:  The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recently  organized a study programme for 19 visiting officers of the Nepal Armed Police Force (APF), the sole paramilitary force of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal,  mandated with internal security, VIP security and protection of vital installations at Nepal. The study tour is part of the Officers’ Course conducted for APF officers in Nepal and is undertaken during the fourth semester of their training programme.

The interaction programme, chaired by  Vijay Prakash, IPS, Additional Director General (HQs), was held at the Conference Hall of CISF Headquarters, New Delhi. In his opening address,  Vinay Kajla, Dy Inspector General (Trg), briefed the visiting officers on the role, responsibilities and functioning of CISF in providing foolproof security to the nation’s critical assets. This was followed by a detailed presentation highlighting the operational, administrative and welfare-related functions of CISF.

The visiting officers were also apprised of CISF’s initiatives in countering emerging security challenges, including the establishment of Drone Training Schools at the National Industrial Security Academy, Hyderabad, and the Regional Training Centre, Bhilai, to combat imminent drone threats.

During the interactive session, the officers from Nepal APF sought information regarding CISF’s posting policy and other internal procedures, which were adequately addressed by the concerned CISF officers. The role of CISF in providing professional security consultancy services was also elaborated upon by ADG (HQrs). CISF offers this unique consultancy service to private, government and semi-government institutions on a nominal charge, aimed at strengthening security architecture of vital installations.

In his concluding remarks,  Shambhu Subedi, DIG, Nepal Armed Police Force, expressed gratitude to the Government of India and CISF for the warm hospitality and valuable insights on industrial security. He stated that the interaction would significantly contribute to enhancing professionalism among APF officers. He also briefed the gathering on various training programs conducted in Nepal for APF personnel.

Following the interaction at CISF Headquarters, the visiting officers proceeded for a field visit to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).  The training programme is being conducted in continuation of directions issued by the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) and aims to further strengthen professional cooperation and bilateral relations with the neighboring country. The visiting officers were on a 10-day study tour to India and will also interact with other Central Armed Police Forces during their stay.       (with inputs from CISF, PR Deptt.)
