Chinese ambassador meets Afghan FM, both discuss trade, aid

Kabul, Dec 4 (UNI) Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Motaqi on Saturday met Chinese Ambassador Wang Yu in Kabul and both sides discussed bilateral relations, trade, humanitarian aid, development and providing technical education to Afghan students.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, said in tweets: “Amir Khan Motaqi concentrated on the extension of trade relations with China. The extension of pine nuts’ export to China was discussed and that other means and routes must be found for Afghan exports to China.”
At the end of the meeting, the Chinese side pledged further humanitarian aid in addition to what has already been provided.
Wang Yu later tweeted: “The Chinese Embassy in #Kabul donated 2000 food packages to needed people in Kabul and other places. We will do as much as we can to assist #Afg people.”
China along with Pakistan has been one of the friendliest countries with the Taliban ever since their takeover of Kabul over three and a half months ago.
