New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu met President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi on Monday over an attack at the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) office and demanded imposing President’s rule in the state.
“This has never happened in the history of Andhra Pradesh, or India… Political parties are attacking offices of other political parties,” Naidu said after meeting the President.
“They attacked our headquarters, a series of attacks were carried out in various parts of state. The reason is that we are fighting for last one and half months on drugs issue, specially ganja and also heroine and liquor issue,” Naidu told reporters.
He said ganja was being grown in Andhra Pradesh illegally and being supplied to different parts of India, and also to other countries.
“We demanded the President, this is the fittest case for imposing President’s rule in Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
YSR Congress Party’s parliamentary party leader V. Vijaya Sai Reddy meanwhile accused the TDP of “provoking and instigating citizens”.

TDP leaders are provoking, instigating citizens. They are trying to stop the welfare schemes being implemented by the YSRCP government in the state by creating hurdles,”Reddy said in a statement.
“TDP President Chandrababu Naidu is just trying to gain sympathy by showing the pictures of the attack on the TDP office, but he is silent on the reason why the citizens attacked the office. Naidu is meeting the Hon’ble President of India today. It would be good if he mentions why the TDP office was attacked by citizens,” he said.
TDP’s head office in Guntur was vandalised by a mob on October 19, and TDP leaders have blamed the ruling YSRCP.

According to reports, TDP office and houses of party leaders were attacked by unidentified persons, against some “objectionable comments” made by TDP official spokesman K Pattabhiram on ganja and drugs smuggling at a press conference.
