CBI Court orders 20 accused of CRPF recruitment scam to appear physically
Patna, Nov 17 (UNI) The special CBI Court today directed the 20 accused of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recruitment scam to appear before it on December 15.
Altogether seven accused, including former CRPF DIG Pushkar Singh, appeared before the court of the Special CBI judge Rajesh Kumar whereas the other 20 accused could not appear before the court which directed them to attend court physically on December 15.
Earlier, large-scale irregularities were reported in recruitment of CRPF in Bihar and Jharkhand in 2008.
CBI which started investigation into the irregularities on May 1, 2009 found that the appointments were made after taking bribe in connivance with CRPF officials.
The CBI had filed chargesheet against 28 accused including the then CRPF DIG Pushkar Singh and Commandent B S Sidhu.
