Haridwar District Disaster Management Officer Meera Rawat mentioned that 209 buildings had been damaged in the floods and 10 roads are still closed in the district.

In the last five days, 19 people have died and 28 have been injured due to various reasons in rain-related disasters. The state government has ordered closure of all schools in the state till July 15.

"Since July 1, the state has received seven per cent more rainfall than normal," said State Meteorological Department Director Vikram Singh. This spell of weather is expected to continue till Friday.

"Keeping in view the situation, the Uttarakhand government has banned the entry of tourists in the mountainous region for the time being," said an official.
