Brother Kills Sister Over Online Gaming Addiction

Amritsar : In a tragic and shocking incident from Mohkampura, Amritsar (Punjab), a 28-year-old man brutally murdered his sister after she confronted him about stealing money from the house. The accused was reportedly addicted to online gaming and betting, which had led him to financial ruin.

According to police sources, the young man had accumulated massive debts due to his addiction to online gambling. He had even sold his car to repay some of the money he owed. On the night of the incident, around 1:30 AM, he was caught by his sister trying to take money from the family cupboard.

An argument broke out between them, and in a fit of rage, he attacked his sister with a sharp object. The sister died on the spot due to serious injuries. Hearing the screams, other family members rushed to the scene and found the victim lying in a pool of blood while the accused was also found injured, possibly due to self-inflicted wounds or scuffle injuries.

Police were immediately informed and reached the spot. The accused was taken to a hospital under police custody. A murder case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the local community. Authorities are emphasizing the growing threat of online gaming addiction and its severe consequences on youth and families.
