BMC Inspects Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat Over Violation

Mumbai : Renovation work at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, has come under scrutiny after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) received complaints of alleged rule violations. According to reports, a team of BMC officials visited Mannat on Friday to assess the ongoing repair and renovation activities, following concerns raised by local residents or complainants

The complaint claimed that the renovation work being carried out at Mannat was in violation of municipal construction norms. While exact details of the alleged violations were not immediately disclosed, BMC sources confirmed that a site inspection was conducted to ensure that all activities were compliant with approved guidelines and permissions

Shah Rukh Khan’s sea-facing bungalow in Bandra is not only a major landmark in Mumbai but also a site that frequently attracts large crowds of fans and tourists. Given its prominence and the involvement of a public figure, any construction or modification at the property is expected to strictly adhere to local building codes and permissions laid out by the authorities

During the inspection, the civic body reportedly checked for any unauthorized extensions, alterations to the façade, or violations of Floor Space Index (FSI) regulations. However, no official statement has been made yet by Shah Rukh Khan or his representatives regarding the matter. The BMC is expected to review the inspection report and decide whether any notices or further action are necessary

Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh’s wife and a renowned interior designer, is believed to be overseeing the renovation work. Sources close to the family have stated that all required permissions were taken and that the work is limited to internal refurbishments that fall well within permissible limits
