Blast Rocks Fast Food Shop in Haryana Panchkula
Shutter flung 100 meters, terror angle under probe; no casualties reported……
Haryana In a shocking incident that stirred panic across the Tricity region, a sudden explosion occurred at a fast food shop in Panchkula, Haryana. The powerful blast took place late Monday night, ripping through the shop located in a bustling marketplace. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported, but the sheer intensity of the explosion left behind a scene of destruction and many unanswered questions.
According to initial eyewitness accounts, the blast was so fierce that the shutter of the fast food shop was hurled nearly 100 meters away. Several passersby mistook the sound for a bomb explosion, leading to widespread alarm in the vicinity. Nearby buildings and shops also trembled due to the impact, with the wall of the shop collapsing under the pressure.
The incident occurred in Sector 11 of Panchkula, a relatively busy area even during the night hours. Residents who rushed to the spot described the scene as chaotic but were relieved to find no casualties. One resident, who lives two buildings away, said, “We heard a loud explosion and thought it was a gas cylinder blast or worse. It shook our windows and scared everyone in the neighborhood.”
The Panchkula Police were quick to respond, reaching the location within minutes of the explosion. A team of senior officers, along with a forensic squad, launched a preliminary investigation. Police Commissioner Saurabh Singh confirmed that while there was no injury or loss of life, the cause of the blast was still under investigation.
He further added, “We are examining all angles, including a possible terror link, though nothing conclusive has come up so far. It’s too early to say what caused the blast—whether it was a gas cylinder explosion, chemical reaction, or something else. We are being extremely cautious and not ruling out any possibility, including sabotage.”
The National Security Guard (NSG) has also been informed, and further forensic testing is expected to take place soon. Meanwhile, locals are being asked to remain calm and alert, and the police have assured that there is no immediate threat to public safety.
Interestingly, this incident comes amid heightened security alerts in several parts of North India following recent intelligence inputs. This has added another layer of seriousness to the Panchkula blast, prompting the authorities to take a zero-tolerance approach to any oversight.
Local shopkeepers expressed concern over the incident. One vendor nearby said, “What if this had happened during the daytime when the market is packed with people? It’s terrifying to think of the consequences.”
City officials are also reviewing safety protocols in market areas and are expected to issue fresh guidelines regarding the handling of combustible materials.
For now, while there is relief that no one was harmed, the incident has left the residents of Panchkula on edge. Investigations continue, and the authorities are expected to release a detailed statement in the coming days once the cause of the explosion is determined.
