BKU’s Tikait threatens govt with ‘protests with 4 lac tractors’ on Jan 26
Rakesh Tikait seeks guarantee on MSP
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday said farmers can stage protest with their 4 lakh tractors on the next Republic Day, if government failed to bring a law on Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Talking to media persons in Mumbai, he said January 26 is “not far” away and government should talk to the farmers and bring in the law on MSP at the earliest.
He also called the Centre a ‘dishonest and deceitful’ government. The farmer leaders also called for the defeat of the BJP in all the upcoming assembly elections, while vowing to continue the fight on MSP.
The farmer leader also reiterated their other demands, including withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment bill and arrest of Union Minister Ajay Mishra over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
Tikait was in Mumbai to attend a ‘mahapanchayat’ held at Azad Maidan.
