BJP’s Bidhuri calls Kejriwal ‘chameleon’: ‘he is ignoring majority community’
on votes. During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Bidhuri said that Kejriwal has announced a hike in the salaries of imams of mosques and muezzins but not done similarly for priests of Hindu temples in the capital. Without naming the Chief Minister, he said that like the lizard changes colours a certain leader in charge of Delhi keeps changing his colour – to protests from the opposition. He said there are 5,000 temples in the capital and the priests were being ignored by the Delhi government. Kunwar Danish Ali of BSP, Gaurav Gogoi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of Congress along with other Opposition MPs objected to the MP’s Zero Hour mention, and asked the Chair to verify his claim. Ali said the salary to Maulvis was paid by the Waqf board, not the state government. NK Premachandran, who was in the Chair, said the facts will be verified. To demands by the Opposition benches that his use of the word “girgit” (lizard) was unparliamentary and should be expunged, the Chair NK Premachandran, of RSP from Kerala, said his speech would be examined and a decision taken.
