BJP to push Covid-19 vaccination drive on PM’s birthday

Seven lakh volunteers to be on the ground level

New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) BJP President JP Nadda on Friday said the party would run a special campaign on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 to get the maximum number of people inoculated against the Covid-19.

Nadda said the BJP has prepared a team of 6 lakh 88 thousand volunteers in 43 days to help in the fight against Covid-19, and they expect the numbers to go up to 7 lakh.

“We are celebrating September 17 as ‘service day’, we will take India’s vaccination program to a new height,” Nadda said.
He called upon party workers to take help non-vaccinate individuals in getting vaccinated.
Nadda will give a message to party workers on the campaign on Saturday, and will hold a meeting with all state BJP chiefs and other party functionaries on September 13.

On September 15 he will address all the trained volunteers. The BJP expects the numbers to cross 7 lakh by then. “These trained volunteers will also assist the health departments and government programs in the coming days,” Nadda said.

BJP also said nearly 18,000 doctors have been associated with the party’s health volunteers campaign for mitigating any further wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

The BJP will also carry out a special course for health volunteers in October.
