BJP taking steps to encourage Covid vaccination: minister Namasivayam
Puducherry, Dec 24 (UNI) Puducherry Home Minister and BJP national executive committee member A Namasivayam on Friday said that the Puducherry unit of the BJP is taking all steps to make Puducherry a 100 percent vaccinated union territory.
Talking to news persons here, Namasivayam said several steps were taken to encourage vaccination and even prizes were given to those who get the vaccine. However, there is a reluctance on the part of the people to get vaccinated, he said.
Asked about the arrest of the BJP youth wing functionary in a murder case, Mr. Namasivyama said that there will not be any partiality and who ever indulge in crimes would be arrested and punished.
To a question, he said that he could not comment on chief minister not going to Delhi. It is up to him he said adding that the ministers are visiting Delhi and getting the required aid for the development of the union territory. Namasivayam who is also the education minister said that students only special buses would soon be operated.
BJP state president Saminathan who was present said that the N R Congress-BJP coalition government had implemented several people welfare schemes.The provision of legal heir certificates through the Thazhildar will be of great help to the poor people, he said and cited the re-opening of ration shops ,promotion to IRBn personnel. The recruitment of police constable would soon be held, he said.
Saminathan said that the vote bank of the BJP in BJP ruled starts are steadily increasing and added that no corruption and direct approach to the people are the reason for this.
