BJP govt delayed bridge on Baner Khad as political vendetta: Congress

alleging that the state government was responsible for the delay in construction work on the bridge being built on Baner Khad, to connect Janiankad to Nandrul and Khart villages, putting people to inconvenience. Kajal alleged that it was merely a political vendetta, in which the BJP government was indulging. Kajal said the foundation stone of this bridge, a project of Rs four crore, was laid during the previous Congress government, on the basis of the legislative priorities scheme. Surprisingly, the present BJP government has failed to erect even two pillars of this bridge during its tenure of four and half years, claimed the Congress leader, adding that the delay in construction of this bridge was putting various sections of the society of Kangra Assembly constituency to a dock only because they had elected a Congress MLA from here. He said that he had raised the issue of this vital bridge on the floor of the assembly too but the government was a mute spectator to the trauma the people of this constituency were undergoing. He said that the slow attitude of the government is cheating the people of the area. He said that about a dozen panchayats of Changar area have been deprived of their right of road connectivity because of the delay in the construction of this bridge over Baner Khad. In order to provide better health facilities to the villagers, posting of doctors and ambulance facilities have been provided in Janiyakad PHC. Expressing concern to the villagers over unemployment, he said that the unemployment figure is increasing due to the continuous neglect of the youth by the state government. Financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 was also released to 4 women mandals each of the village. He said the road from Daulatpur to Janiyakad village has been constructed with a cost of Rs 1.70 crore. On this occasion, Panchayat Pradhan Chandu Lal urged the government for speedy construction of bridge on Akhand made by MLA Kajal. (UNI)
