Shimla: The Ruling BJP and CPI(M) began canvassing and filling nominations for upcoming Assembly poll as its candidate are visible in the field and before Electoral Office to file nomination papers on Wednesday.
Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur who is again party CM face and party top state leader today filled his nomination form Seeraj Assembly Constituency in Mandi district. The party has already organized four Election rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Mandi, Una and Chamba and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district.
Ruling BJP by virtue of power already holds a number of public meetings in the state however it has put 16 new faces in the fray has also begun the canvassing today. Mr. Sanjay Sood who is put in fray from Shimla urban also started his campaign from Shimla Mall Road. Beside this CPI(M) Tejinder Singh Panwar has been in the field for the last two days. CPU(M) candidate Dr Kuldeep Tanwar, Rakesh Singha and Vishal Sangta will file nomination papers tomorrow. In Theog CPI(M) sitting MLA Rakesh Singha is in triangular electoral battle as Congress and BJP put greenhorn Kuldeep Singh Rathore and Ajay Shyam in the fray. Former was HPCC Ex-president and latter BJP Mahsu Mandal chief and filed sedition case against noted Indian Journalist late Vinod Dua. In Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly ruling BJP lost recent Assembly Election and forfeited party deposit to Congress Rohit Thakur who is in the fray again. BJP has denied tickets to Neelam after facing major debacle despite being party in power. It has given ticket to party Rebel Chetan Bragta who is son of former BJP MLA Narendra Bragta who died one year ago. The ruling party and Opposition Congress is locked in triangular contests from Jubbal Kotkhai after Zila Parishad member of CPI(M) put in fray by the party also have strong mass base and made the contest triangular. Shimla, Theog and Jubbal Kotkhai is high profile assembly constituency and having highest per capita income and about hundred percent literacy. In Rohru Congress sitting MLA Mohan Lal Bragta is also locked in direct contest with former BJP candidate chairman of Gramin Bank Shashi Bala. Shashibala is one of five women candidate who is in the fray for second time from Congress bastion. In Chopal Assembly BJP sitting MLA Balvir Verma is also in the fray for fourth term against no-voice Rajnish Khimta. BJP couldn’t announce a candidate from Rampur against Congress sitting MLA Nand Lal. In Gramin Shimla sitting two-time MLA and son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh Mr. Vikramditya Singh is facing green horn of BJP, AVBP leader and chairman of Kailash Federation Ravi Mehta. In Kusumpti Assembly Congress four-time MLA Rana Anirudh Singh is locked in triangular contests with four-time BJP MLA from Shimla and Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and CPI(M) candidate Dr Kuldeep Singh Tanwar who was in the fray for third time. Earlier Kusumpti Assembly was considered blue bloods contests as Scion of Royal dynasty Koti and Junga but this time the in Kusumpti Assembly Constituency the real issue of Election is shifting from Devta, Daru and Dabangata (Diety, Liquor and terror) to Roads, Lumpy Skin Disease, water, Heath, Education, Agriculture and Livelihood.
