Senior AAP leaders to accompany Kejriwal to Gurdaspur in CM’s absence….
Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has fallen ill and cancelled his scheduled visit to flood-affected areas of the state alongside Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. According to a senior official from the Chief Minister’s Office, Mann is suffering from a high fever due to a viral infection. Doctors are currently attending to him at his residence, and he is expected to recover by the evening. Officials confirmed that the Chief Minister will chair the Punjab cabinet meeting on Friday as planned.
Kejriwal, who arrived in Punjab on Wednesday evening to review the flood situation, visited Mann’s official residence in Chandigarh on Thursday morning to enquire about his health. The two leaders were scheduled to jointly tour Sultanpur Lodhi, one of the worst-hit regions where several villages remain submerged due to heavy flooding. However, with Mann unwell, the visit has been cancelled.
Party sources revealed that while Mann will not be able to travel, senior AAP leaders, including party president Aman Arora, will now accompany Kejriwal on his tour to Gurdaspur and other affected districts. Relief and rehabilitation measures continue across Punjab as authorities battle the state’s worst floods in decades.
