New Delhi : In July 2025, banks across India will remain closed for a total of 13 days. This includes 4 Sundays, 2 second and fourth Saturdays, and 7 holidays that vary across different states due to local festivals and observances.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, while banking holidays are not uniform across all states, many branches will remain closed on specific days due to regional celebrations, religious festivals, or local events.

Here’s a breakdown of the bank holidays in July 2025:

  • Weekly Holidays:

    • Sundays: July 6, 13, 20, 27

    • Second Saturday: July 12

    • Fourth Saturday: July 26

  • Regional Holidays (may vary by state):

    • July 7 – Bonalu Festival (Telangana)

    • July 8 – Kang (Manipur)

    • July 10 – Rath Yatra (Odisha and some Eastern states)

    • July 16 – Harela (Uttarakhand)

    • July 17 – Muharram (in several states)

    • July 25 – Nag Panchami (Maharashtra, Gujarat, other states)

    • July 31 – Shaheed Udham Singh Martyrdom Day (Punjab)

Citizens are advised to plan their banking activities accordingly, especially for tasks like cheque clearances, branch visits, or document submissions. While physical bank branches will remain closed on these days, online banking services such as mobile apps, internet banking, ATMs, and UPI will continue to function as usual.

Banking officials have also reminded customers that although digital services are operational 24×7, any transactions requiring branch-level authorization or manual processing may get delayed due to consecutive non-working days in some regions.

It’s important for salaried employees, businesses, and those with EMI or loan payment deadlines to keep these dates in mind to avoid penalties or transaction issues.

The RBI releases monthly holiday schedules to ensure transparency and smooth financial planning for customers across the country. However, it’s always recommended to check with your local bank branch as regional variations may apply.
