Babbar Khalsa Denies Role in Canada Shooting

Kapil Sharma’s Café Attack Disowned by Khalistani Group……

Amritsar : In a significant development, the Khalistani separatist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has officially distanced itself from the recent shooting incident at a café in Canada reportedly associated with Indian comedian Kapil Sharma. The attack, which involved gunfire at night, had sent shockwaves across Indo-Canadian circles and raised concerns about growing extremism on foreign soil.

The group, often linked with radical Khalistani ideologies and banned in several countries including India, issued a rare public statement. It clarified that neither BKI nor any of its supporters were involved in the gun attack, adding that it has no connection to the café or its ownership.

This response comes after multiple rumors and online theories suggested a potential Khalistani hand behind the shooting, especially due to the rising tensions between India and pro-Khalistan elements overseas. The BKI statement, issued through encrypted social media channels often used by such groups, mentioned:

“We categorically deny any involvement in the incident that took place at a café in Canada. Linking this act with our organization is an attempt to malign our name without any basis.”

The attack on the café occurred during off-hours and, fortunately, no casualties were reported. Local Canadian authorities are investigating the case as an “act of targeted vandalism” but have so far not confirmed the identity of the attackers. Surveillance footage is being analyzed, and security around Indian-linked businesses in the region has reportedly been increased.

Kapil Sharma, though not directly commenting on the incident, is believed to be one of the stakeholders in the establishment. Sources close to him say that he is “shaken but safe,” and is cooperating with local police through legal teams. There’s also an increasing demand from the Indian diaspora for greater protection amid a rise in politically motivated violence overseas.

This incident reflects the growing concern of exporting domestic tensions abroad, especially in countries like Canada, the UK, and Australia, where significant South Asian populations reside. Experts say these acts may aim to intimidate individuals who either oppose separatist ideologies or are simply high-profile Indian nationals.

Diplomatic channels between India and Canada remain strained due to past allegations and counter-allegations around extremist elements operating from Canadian soil. This latest event might only deepen the mistrust unless swift legal action is taken and accountability is established.

While Babbar Khalsa’s denial may bring temporary relief, the spotlight is now on Canadian law enforcement to uncover the truth behind the firing and ensure that the peaceful multicultural fabric of the country is preserved.  As investigations continue, voices across both India and the global Indian community are calling for transparency, accountability, and protection of law-abiding citizens abroad.
