Avoid these roads in Chandigarh during Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on Friday
More than 1,100 police and paramilitary personnel will be deputed during the Union home minister’s visit.
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh police on Wednesday issued a detailed traffic advisory pertaining to the scheduled visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday. He will inaugurate development projects in the tricity.
The advisory stated that traffic will be diverted or restricted on Uttar Marg at Rajindra Park, Sector 2/3 small roundabout to Sukhna Lake Light Point. On Vigyan Path, traffic movement will be restricted at Hira Singh Chowk, Golf Turn, and on Sukhna Path from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGSS) Light Point, Sector 26, to St Kabir Light Point, during VVIP movement.
The general public is requested to avoid these stretches or roads from 2 pm to 5pm on Friday.
Traffic will be restricted on Sukhna Path at SGGS Light Point-26, Grain Market-26 roundabout, on Sarovar Path at AP Chowk, Old Labour roundabout, Sector 34/20, and on the entire Dakshin Marg from the New Labour roundabout near Sham Fashion Mall, Sector 34, till Zirakpur Barrier. The public is requested to avoid these roads from 6 pm to 8 pm.
People are requested to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience and to reach their destinations before 5 pm to avoid traffic congestion. They are also advised to follow the social media accounts of the Chandigarh traffic police for real-time updates.
