Auto, taxi fares hiked by Delhi Govt.

New Delhi: The auto and Taxi fares in Delhi will soon go up as the Delhi government approved the revised fares. New fares will be notified soon.
With the approval of the Delhi government, the new fares for Auto and Taxi will be applicable once these are notified in the coming weeks, Office of the Transport Minister in a statement said.
A commuter will have to pay Rs 30 instead of the existing Rs 25 for the initial 1.5 km and passengers will have to pay Rs 11 instead of Rs 9 for every subsequent km after notification, the statement stated.
The last revision in the auto fares happened in the year 2020 while that for Taxi which includes black and yellow taxi, Economy taxi and Premium taxi, happened nine years back in 2013. In 2020, while the fare of CNG was Rs 47, it has now increased to Rs 78 by October 2022.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot had received many representations from the Auto Rickshaw and Taxi associations/unions on this issue.  (UNI)
