Ashok Gehlot meets his MLAs before embarking on Delhi trip

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister is reported to have had a closed-door meeting with his confident legislators in Jaipur late on Tuesday evening. He is leaving for Delhi in the morning on Wednesday. He is scheduled to join former President of Congress Party Rahul Gandhi, in the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka. He will return to Delhi by the end of the week.

Speculation is abuzz, he might file his nomination for Congress Party president election during his visit to the National Capital. Since another senior party leader and communications head Shashi Tharoor has already thrown his hat in the ring and expressed his desire to fight for the top party post, there is likely to be a straight contest on October 17 election.
