Amit Shah holds ‘Social Brotherhood Meeting’ with Farmers at Delhi

held an important meeting with the leaders of the Jat community today. About 400 Jat leaders attended the meeting held at the residence of BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma. This meeting was named ‘Social Brotherhood Meeting’. In this meeting, Shri Shah invited the RLD, which is contesting in alliance with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, to join the BJP alliance. Addressing the Jat leaders, Shri Shah mentioned the decisions taken by the BJP governments at the Center and the state in view of the problems of farmers ranging from improving law and order in western Uttar Pradesh. Appealing to the Jat leaders to make the BJP win in the assembly elections, he said that the thinking of the BJP and the Jat community is the same. After the meeting, Verma while talking to UNI said that the Jat leaders put forward two major demands in front of Mr. Shah, which included payment of sugarcane in 14 days and reservation for Jats. He said that Jat leaders raised other issues related to farmers’ interests including giving ‘Bharat Ratna’ to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh and Shri Shah gave him full assurance of resolving these issues.
