Due to AC issues, Thiruvananthapuram-Dubai Air India flight returns.

Thiruvananthpuram: A problem with the aircraft’s air conditioning system forced an Air India Express flight from the capital of the Kerala state to Dubai to return on Sunday, just a few hours after takeoff, according to Thiruvananthapuram airport officials.

According to an airport official, the flight, IX 539, which departed from here at 1.19 PM with 174 passengers on board, including the crew, returned and made a safe landing at 3.52 PM.

“The landing was successful. Everybody, including the crew, is alright. There was a local standby ordered. The official stated that the problem with the AC.

He said that the passengers were already at the airport and would be departing in an hour on another flight that the airline had scheduled.

The airline claimed that after takeoff, the air conditioning system on flight IX-539 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai developed a mechanical problem, prompting the crew to land the aircraft at Thiruvananthapuram as a precaution.

An Air India representative said, “The airline swiftly arranged for another aircraft to ensure a comfortable journey, accommodating all the guests for the rescheduled departure at 1800 hours.”

The representative for the airline continued, “Air India Express is committed to offering a safe, dependable, and comfortable travel experience for all guests and apologises for the inconvenience caused by the delay.
