ADC Geetika Singh holds preview meeting for IPL matches in Mohali
Traffic police asked to gear up and provide jam-free arrangemends upto the IPL venue!
(ndian Premier League) matches to be conducted at Maharaja Yadwindra Singh Cricket Stadium Mullanpur, New Chandigarh to review various arrangements.
She asked the District Police to make smooth traffic arrangements and ample parking arrangements to avoid the surrounding villages from any kind of traffic jams. She said that after the stadium started hosting the first cricket match last year, all the arrangements should be made in advance this time based on the difficulties faced previously.
The ADC urged the GMADA ADC, Amarinder Singh Malhi, to get the necessary repairs of the surrounding roads and other road obstructions fixed through the engineering staff as soon as possible.
She also asked the Public Health Department to arrange temporary toilet/urinary blocks etc. in all the parking lots to be set up outside the stadium so that the spectators/viewers do not face any problem.
She asked the Health Department to coordinate with PGI and Homi Bhabha Hospitals so that health services can be availed in case of emergency.
ADC Geetika asked the representatives of PCA and Punjab Kings to obtain the necessary excise permits in advance for the liquor etc. to be served inside the stadium. She asked the Excise Department officials present in the meeting to issue the permits in time and ensure that there are no violations.
She asked the Fire Brigade officials to audit the fire extinguishers and arrangements present in the stadium and issue a no-objection certificate and also asked them to make advance arrangements to deal with any exigency during the match day.
ADC Geetika Singh asked the PSPCL officials to properly maintain the electric wires lying on the roads around the stadium so that no one faces any problem due to any downed wire or cable.
She asked the PCA and Punjab Kings management to prepare the accreditations of the officers to be deployed for duty by the district administration in time so that they do not face any problem in performing their duties.
SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh, DSP Mullanpur Mohit Agarwal, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr. Ankita Kansal and other officers were present in the meeting.. (with inputs from DPRO)
