Chandigarh Panjab : In a significant political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Punjab, Sushil Kumar Mittal, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed pride in being given the opportunity to represent India’s stance against terrorism on global forums. The meeting took place in New Delhi and lasted for over 30 minutes, during which critical issues of national importance were discussed.

Mittal, speaking to the media after the meeting, said that the Prime Minister had shown trust in his ability to communicate India’s firm opposition to terrorism in international discussions. “This was not just a personal moment of pride, but a moment of national responsibility,” said the MP. “Being allowed to speak for the country in such a context is a huge honor for any citizen, let alone an elected representative,” he added.

Mittal also praised the central government’s consistent efforts to highlight the issue of terrorism and its impact on global peace. He said that the international community must stand united against the forces that sponsor or support terror in any form. The MP also emphasized that Punjab, being a border state, has suffered firsthand the consequences of terrorism and understands its long-term implications.

Sources close to the meeting indicated that PM Modi appreciated Mittal’s efforts and assured full support from the central government to all MPs committed to national security and public welfare. The two leaders also briefly discussed development plans in Punjab and the importance of a united front in addressing both domestic and international challenges.

Political analysts believe this meeting is significant because it shows cross-party recognition of India’s core national interests, especially in areas like internal security and foreign policy. In a time when polarization often dominates public discourse, such engagements between opposition MPs and the Prime Minister are seen as steps toward constructive politics.

Mittal concluded his statement by saying, “Politics aside, when it comes to national integrity and terrorism, we all must speak the same language. I thank the Prime Minister for this opportunity.”
