AAP Councilors in Mohali MCD Charge Mayor With Incompetency
Incapable of raising funds for routine and developmemt works of Mohali, an important city of Punjab
Mohali: Ten Opposition Councilors of Mohali municipality belonging to Aam Aadmi Party addressed a press conference in the city to highlight the worsening condition of sewerage, drainage and cleanliness due to scarcity of staff on duty and the missing adminstration. The forthcoming MC session on March 01 is going to be a stormy one.
Conceillors Sukhdev Singh Patwari, Manjit Singh Sethi and Sarabjit Singh Samna deprecated the ruling Mayor’s team for presenting a watered down budget of Rs.140 Crores for 2024-25 against a higher provision of Rs. 173 Crores for previous year. The incompetency of the ruling team is visible as their inability to raise resources for resolving City’s problems said Mr. Patwari. Former Dy. Mayor Manjit Singh Sethi raised the issue of delay in purchasing mechanical cleaning machines for Mohali district. The present Dy. Mayor has also been writing to the city Commissioner on the issue but nobody is responding to his communications too.
Other Councillors joining the press conference and supporting their colleagues were Gurmeet Kaur, Ramanpreet Kaur Kambra, Aruna Vasisht, Gurpreet Kaur, Ravinder S Bindra, Harjit S Suhana Vaidwan and Pramod Mitra. They wre inclined to plan a dharna against the Mayor Amarjjit Singh Jeetu Sidhu and press for his resignation, if their questions were not answered soon and to their satisfaction.
