The Traitors 2: Shahneel Gill alleges ‘match-fixing’, claims contestant may have got insider information

Mumbai : ‘The Traitors’ Season 2 has found itself in the middle of a controversy after contestant Shahneel Gill made serious allegations about a contestant, though she didn’t take names. Shahneel claimed that confidential information from inside the show may have been leaked to a contestant through a member of the production support staff, calling the alleged incident “match-fixing”.

In a video, Shahneel did not name the contestant she was referring to but claimed that every player on the show is assigned a “shadow” from the production team. According to her, these staff members look after the contestants’ needs during the day.

Shahneel alleged that one such staff member was paid by a contestant to share information from inside the game. She also questioned how a contestant had repeatedly managed to identify Traitors based on what appeared to be nothing more than a “gut feeling”.

“I also wanted this gut feeling,” Shahneel said while talking about the situation. She then claimed that the contestant’s repeated success in identifying Traitors now appeared to have “a source”.

Shahneel also said that if the allegation is true, it would be unfair to the Innocents who are trying to understand the game through their own observations and discussions. Krystle D’Souza has also reacted to the controversy. Without naming the contestant, Krystle said she was “furious” at the possibility that a player may have received information that was not available to the others. She called the situation shocking and unfair.

The claims have led to discussions among fans, with some viewers looking back at the contestant’s earlier moments on the show where they correctly identified Traitors. However, the allegations have not been independently confirmed. The contestant being referred to has not publicly responded to the claims, and there has been no official confirmation from the makers about any information being leaked.

The second season of The Traitors is hosted by Karan. The show divides the contestants into two groups: Innocents and Traitors. While the Innocents try to identify the Traitors, the Traitors must keep their identities hidden while eliminating the Innocents.
