Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility, police begin investigation….
Amritsar — A 35-year-old lab technician, Ashutosh Mahajan, was shot dead on Sunday night outside his family’s restaurant on Batala Road in Amritsar. Mahajan was employed at SR Government College for Girls.
According to police, two bike-borne masked assailants carried out the attack. Eyewitnesses said one suspect entered the restaurant to ask for water while the other waited outside. Moments later, the assailants fired multiple shots, hitting Mahajan three times. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed, while the victim’s family statements and call records are also under examination.
Hours after the killing, gangster Hari Boxer, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility through a social media account named Anmol Bishnoi. The post alleged that Mahajan had been acting as a police informer and had provided information about their aide, Nona Harike.
Police officials, however, said the claims are still being verified, and investigations are underway.
