Dream11 Pulls Out Before Asia Cup 2025 – What’s Next for BCCI & Team India
BCCI to float new tender; pullout attracts no penalty…..
Just weeks before the Asia Cup 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been left without a team sponsor after Dream11 announced its withdrawal.
The decision comes in the wake of Parliament’s new law that bans real money-based online games. Since Dream11’s core business falls under this category, the fantasy gaming platform has officially informed BCCI CEO Hemang Amin that it will no longer continue its sponsorship.
A senior BCCI official confirmed, “Dream11 won’t be the team’s sponsors for the Asia Cup. The board will soon float a new tender for sponsorship.”
✅ No Penalty on Dream11
As per the sponsorship contract, Dream11 will not face any penalty. The agreement clearly mentions that if a sponsor’s primary business is affected by a new government law, they are not liable to pay compensation to the cricket board.
BCCI Looks for New Sponsor
With just two weeks left for the Asia Cup in Dubai, the BCCI now faces the challenge of finding a new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team.
Dream Sports (parent company of Dream11) has not issued any official statement, with its Vice President (Communications) Pooja Sabharwal declining to comment.
