Punjab Popular Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu has made an emotional appeal after receiving multiple death threats during his ongoing Europe tour. The singer, known for his powerful voice and bold lyrics, said in a recent statement that he feels targeted and betrayed. He claimed that a campaign is being run against him and even went as far as saying, “Mera juloos nikala gaya”—a Punjabi expression implying public humiliation or defamation.

Speaking through a heartfelt social media post, Sidhu revealed that despite being in Europe, away from the political and social conflicts of Punjab, he is being dragged into controversies he has no part in. “I don’t even meet people during my tour. I focus on my shows and come back to my hotel. Still, I’m being accused of things I haven’t done. I don’t understand why,” he said.

He expressed concern over the threats he’s been receiving, stating that he now fears for his life. “It’s not easy being an artist anymore,” he remarked. “There was a time when music united people, but now it seems like someone always wants to bring you down.” He added that he’s been advised by his team and local authorities to increase his personal security during the remainder of the tour.

The threats and public defamation appear to have taken a toll on the singer’s mental well-being. His fans are rallying behind him, posting messages of support and urging him to stay strong. “We are with you, Gulab Sidhu. Don’t let hate win,” read one fan comment. Another wrote, “Real fans know the truth. You’ve only spread love through your songs.”

Sources close to the singer claim that this is not the first time Sidhu has been the target of such hostility. In the past too, he has faced backlash for his songs that reflect the raw emotions and struggles of rural youth in Punjab. While his music resonates with millions, it has also drawn criticism from certain quarters who find his lyrics provocative.

Authorities in Europe are reportedly aware of the threats and are cooperating with Sidhu’s team to ensure his safety. The local police in some tour locations have been alerted and precautionary measures are being taken. The incident once again highlights the growing challenges artists face in expressing themselves freely. In the age of social media, where information—whether true or false—spreads rapidly, reputations can be damaged overnight.

Sidhu concluded his message by saying he is not afraid but is saddened by the negativity. “I started singing to connect with people. I never imagined I’d have to worry about my safety for simply performing music.” The singer’s upcoming performances in Germany and France remain scheduled as planned, but fans are keeping a close eye on updates and hoping the artist can complete his tour without further trouble.
