Vedanta net profit decreases 40 per cent
Vedanta net profit declines 40 per cent. The total income of the corporation decreased to ‘34,279 crore from ‘39,355 crore during the same time period the previous year. The company’s expenditures came in at Rs 31,973 crore, down from Rs 32,095 crore the previous year.
NEW DELHI: Vedanta Ltd. said on Friday that its consolidated net profit in the April-June quarter fell by 40.84% to Rs 3,308 crore. This decline was primarily driven by a decrease in the company’s income.
According to a filing that Vedanta Ltd. made with the BSE, the company’s “profit after tax before share in profit/(loss) of jointly controlled entities and associates” came in at Rs 5,592 crore over the same time period in 2022-23. When compared to the previous quarter, however, the company’s net profit was 5.61 percent greater than the 3.132 billion rupees it earned in the January-March period.
