Nivruti Rai appointed as MD and CEO of Invest India

NEW DELHI: Nivruti Rai, a former head of country operations for Intel in India, started her new role as Managing Director and CEO of Invest India on July 12, according to an official statement released on Wednesday.

She has taken over the responsibility from Manmeet K. Nanda, who was the Joint Secretary at the Department for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). In March, he was given the additional responsibility of MD.

After serving as a global business and technology leader for Intel for the past 29 years, Rai has decided to join Invest India.

For the past seven years, she has served as the country head for Intel India.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, the Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (also known as DPIIT), serves as the chairman of the board of Invest India.

Other members of the board include P. K. Tripathi, who serves as the Secretary for Coordination at the Cabinet Secretariat; Arti Bhatnagar, who serves as the Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor at the DPIIT; Md.

Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of the Mahindra Group; Noor Rahman Sheikh, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs; Pankaj R Patel, Chairperson of Cadilla Healthcare; Harshvardhan Neotia, Chairperson of the Ambuja Neotia Group; Rekha M Menon, Chairperson and Senior MD of Accenture; and Debjani Ghosh, President of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM).

Invest India is a government body that encourages financial investment. It makes things easier for potential investors who want to invest in the country.
