LUCKNOW: On Wednesday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that over the past six years, 55 lakh-60 lakh more students had enrolled in state council schools, while before 2017, parents would fear sending their children to such government-run primary schools.

The CM invited private university owners and higher education institutions to invest in the state.“Even the parents did not want to send their child to government schools in bad condition due to lack of maintenance. Government schools with untamed bushes instead of well-kept trees and manicured play spaces now have more students.

Today, the walls of the school buildings are adorned with the creative expressions of students in the form of paintings, parents, enthused by the ambience, are willing to send their ward to school,” he said, adding that over 1.91 crore students were being educated in UP basic education schools, more than the population of many countries.

On Wednesday, the CM released $1,200 per student studying in UP Basic Education Board schools for academic session 2023-24. The money was transferred to parents’ bank accounts via DBT for the purchase of uniforms, sweaters, school bags, shoes, and stationery in students’ sizes and preferences.

CM Yogi claimed that NITI Aayog’s research showed that education was the most important factor in liberating Uttar Pradesh from poverty.

He said that progress would be visible in 5-10 years. Yogi noted that education has changed, especially in aspirational districts. Later that day, the CM invited famous private universities and higher education firms to invest in UP’s education sector.

He thought education was always worthwhile. It polishes society and the nation’s future. On Wednesday, the CM said, “UP, with a huge young population, has immense potential and probabilities and the private education groups should take advantage of this resources.”

CM Yogi represented the country’s spiritual and cultural heritage, and Varanasi was its living embodiment, assuring higher education owners of all aid in setting up universities in unserved UP districts.
