NEW DELHI: Ranveer Singh remarked Tuesday that “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” is the “Karan Johar-est” film of the director’s career, bringing back the feel of “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” that started his career.

“Rocky Aur Rani” marks Karan’s directorial return after “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” in 2016.

The 25th anniversary of the director’s career, which included “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” and “My Name is Khan,” will mark its release.

Ranveer, who stars opposite Alia Bhatt, called the film a Karan Johar classic.

Karan Johar’s ‘Karan Johar-est flick’. This recalls Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. It was well-planned. Karan Johar is bringing back big-screen films we grew up watching. “It has been such a big part of our lives,” the 38-year-old actor told reporters here.

Ranveer called Karan’s “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” “cult classics” for a generation.

We grew up with these films. “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” features the family, singing, happiness, and joy. This film should make people joyful. “They would smile and feel warm,” he added.

The actor and Alia revealed the movie’s new song “Ve Kamleya” at a press conference.

The film’s trailer, released earlier this month, showcased a couple from different cultures.

Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi star.

Alia, 30, said “Rocky Aur Rani” celebrates Indian culture.

“It’s different. Our rich culture makes our country beautiful. Representing conflicting civilizations like north India and Bengal always gives you that sensation. “It’s fun to see because it’s rich in culture, colourful, and has so many dynamics,” she remarked.
