After Patna opposition meet, NDA revival attempts: Congress
Congress says NDA being revived following Patna opposition meet. Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed the NDA is “sought to be revived years after it had become a farce.”
BENGALURU: The Congress said Monday that Opposition unity would be “a game changer” for Indian politics and criticised the BJP, saying those who used to talk of defeating the opposition parties alone are now trying to revive the NDA, which had become a “ghost.”
Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suddenly remembered the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) at a press conference on the two-day key opposition deliberations commencing Monday evening.
“NDA revitalization is underway. NDA has been discussed recently. A surprise NDA meeting was announced for tomorrow. “NDA, which had become a ghost, is being revived,” Ramesh added.
He said the Patna meeting caused this.
As the time for neutrality has passed, Ramesh said all parties must choose sides: those protecting the Constitution or those destroying it.
“Suddenly the NDA is being sought to be revived years after it had become a farce,” Ramesh tweeted after BJP head J P Nadda declared 38 parties would attend the NDA conference on Tuesday. 26 Opposition parties together had this effect.”
“After the Patna conclave on June 23rd, and the fact that more parties are attending the Bengaluru conclave tomorrow, the BJP is desperately trying to infuse life into the NDA,” he said.
At the presser with Ramesh, Congress general secretary organisation KC Venugopal said that people will teach those who have failed in governance and misled them with false promises.
He stated 26 opposition parties are here to solve people’s problems and address this “dictatorial government’s actions.”
