Indian Consulate in Frankfurt Celebrates Dr. BR Ambedkar Anniversary
Frankfurt (Germany) : Indian community in Germany’s financial capital celebrated the 133 rd Birth Anneversay of one of the greatest social crusader and jurist Dr. B R Ambedkar on Thursday. The local Consulate General BS Mubarak led the initiative to remember the leading architect of Indian Constitution after Independence, and addressed the local Indian diaspora and members of Dr. Ambedkar Mission in Europe, namely Baba Singh Gill, Ms Binder Sapla. Indian community was represented by Kamal Vatsain, Ajit Ranade, Vibha Kant Sharma, Vinod Kumar and staff of the CGI in the city.
The speakers underlined the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar, also called Father of Indian Constitution, or Baba Saheb by his followers, for his efforts for upliftment of socially backward and economically ignored sections of Indian society. Floral tributes were paid by the speakers on the occasion.
Dr. Ambedkar, a Bar at Law was the President of Constituent Assembly of India, the apex body which deliberated over 2 years 11 months until January 26, 1950, the first Republic Day of India. The Assembly had 11 long sessions and studied the constituions of 60 countries to pick up democratic principals and guidelines for future parliamentarians and the citizens.
