Himachal’s Congress govt will complete 5-year term: CM Sukhvinder Sukhu

Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said notwithstanding conspiracies being hatched by the BJP and others, the Congress government would continue to serve the people of Himachal and complete its full five-year term. He laid foundation stones and inaugurated 13 development projects worth Rs 88.78 crore in Kasauli.

Sukhu, while addressing a public meeting at Dharampur in the Kasuali Assembly constituency in Solan district, said that it was unfortunate that some Congress MLAs cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha election.

The Chief Minister said that the six rebel MLAs, escorted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Haryana Police, reached Shimla in a helicopter but abstained from attending the House when the Budget was being passed with the motive of overthrowing the government.

He said that in the first Budget, the government had taken strenuous measures to curb corruption. It again made provisions in the second Budget for the welfare of people. “Minimum wages have been increased to Rs 400 and the procurement price of milk has been enhanced so that the agrarian economy is strengthened,” he added.

“The Congress government has made earnest efforts to boost the state’s economy despite facing challenges like the rain calamity. A division of the Jal Shakti Department and a degree college will be opened at Subathu in Kasauli,” he said. He assured people of getting constructed a playfield and asked the local MLA to find suitable land for the project.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Government Degree College at Mandodhar in Dharampur constructed at a cost of Rs 12.69 crore, APMC rest house costing Rs 72 lakh at Sabzi Mandi, Dharampur, and lift water supply schemes for Barog, Bohali and Bhojnagar built at a cost of Rs 8.01 crore.
