Himshakti: Def. Ministry signs deal with PSUs for Rs 3,000 crore warfare systems for hill regions

NEW DELHI: The defense ministry on Friday inked a Rs 3,000 crore contract for procurement of two integrated electronic warfare systems under Project Himshakti for the army in mountainous terrain.The contract signed with defense PSU Bharat Electronics (BEL) is under the “Buy Indian (indigenously designed, developed and manufactured)” category comprising contemporary and niche technologies, an MoD official said.
Project Himshakti will generate employment of approximately three lakh man-days over a period of two years,” he added.
