Nerwegian skier rescued in Gulmarg, Kashmir

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police rescued a foreigner skier in the tourist resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district on Saturday.
Police said the tourist identifed as Oeyvind Aamot of Norway had lost his track and got stuck in Khar Nallah forests in Drung area.
Police said Aamot had arrived in morning at Gulmarg and went for skiing and on return lost his track.
“Acting upon this, two police rescue teams of Police Station Gulmarg and Tourism Department were formed who followed two tracks around the forest area and finally reached at the location of the foreign skier. He was rescued from the forest area of Drung and brought back to Gulmarg safely,” a police spokesman said.
The foreign tourist expressed his gratitude towards Baramulla police for timely help.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla Amod Nagpure appreciated the rescue teams and announced a cash reward for them.  (UNI)
