Himachal Cabinet likely to be expanded tomorrow
Dharamshala: The cabinet expansion of the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government may take place on January 7, the sources said here on Thursday. State Guv Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who was to go out of the state on January 7, has postponed his visit by a day to January 8, the sources said.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh left for Delhi from Dharamshala after the second day of assembly session.
In the late evening, he met Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal and state in-charge Rajeev Shukla in Delhi and discussed the names of possible ministers. The Chief Minister will return to Dharamshala on Friday morning. After discussion on the Governor’s address, the Chief Minister will give his reply in the House. He is scheduled to return to Shimla on Friday evening.
It is learnt that in view of the possibility of cabinet expansion, the Raj Bhavan Secretariat has started preparing for the oath. There can be an official announcement of the swearing-in ceremony on Friday. Governor, will leave for Goa on January 8.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Suku told UNI that the cabinet expansion was expected any day’. (UNI)
