Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday expressed satisfaction over the fact that the state is leading in the country with a growth rate of 19.74 per cent and an enhancement of about 45 per cent has been recorded vis-à-vis capital expenditure.
“This year, better work is being accomplished for capital expenditure with an amount of Rs 48,800 crore. The state’s contribution to national economy has increased to 4.6 per cent,” he was officially quoted as saying at a program here.
Crucial suggestions were received in 2020 from experts in the infrastructure, education, health and good governance spheres.
“In the coming year, we have set a target of providing employment to 32 lakh youths and that figure includes a lakh government jobs. Women of about 43 lakh families are associated with SHGs. During the past seven months, more than 22 lakh self-employment opportunities were created through various schemes. While we are at the forefront of wheat production, attention is also being paid towards diversification of crops and natural farming. Under Kisan Samman Nidhi; Rs 7,816 cr has been deposited in cultivators’ accounts. Citizens have been motivated to plant saplings on marriage anniversaries, birthdays of family members and in memory of ancestors through the Ankur Portal. Work is underway to relocate cheetahs from South Africa and Namibia to Kuno Palpur National Sanctuary. There are efforts to make the Narmada Expressway a growth engine. Today, approximately 44 lakh hectares are being irrigated and the target is 65 lakh ha,” the Chief Minister added. (UNI)
