Priyanka: Capt. was removed as he was following instructions from Modi Govt

Kotakpura/Dhuri, Feb 13 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and party’s star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Sunday that Capt. Amarinder Singh was removed as Chief Minister of Punjab after it was observed that he was following the instructions of the Union Government led by Prime minister Narendra Modi and not the party leadership. Addressing public rallies in favour of Congress candidates in Sangrur district, she said that the party chose Charanjit Singh Channi, who hails from a poor family to run the government of Punjab. “We want the government of Punjab to be run from Punjab. If the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed, it will run from Delhi. Channi Sarkar will run from Punjab.” Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu and senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar also shared the stage at all the public rallies. In Dhuri, Priyanka began her 11-minute speech speaking about her relations with Punjab, saying that she is happy to come to the holy land of Punjab, where the people have a sense of integrity. The integrity of the Punjabis was visible in the farmers’ movement. Punjabis did not bow down, she said. Targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), she said that there is a political party, which has come from Delhi which is showing the Delhi model. “Once before, a similar model came to the country from Gujarat”, it failed, Gujarat model is only in advertisements. “The reality of Delhi is also no different, the AAP leaders themselves say that they are bigger than BJP. AAP has done nothing in Delhi”, she said. Ms Gandhi asked “what kind of government you want in Punjab, a government that works in 100 days or speeches?. Channi Sarkar did good work in hundred days for the betterment of Punjab. Water, electricity, sewerage, electricity bills were waived, electricity was waived in Gaushalas, loans of backward classes were waived on a large scale. Now the government wants to give 33 percent reservation to women.” She said that BJP and AAP indulge in politics of advertisement, “it is not going to benefit you. You need a government that works for the betterment of your future. If a new government is needed, only Congress will give it. Channi is working continuously. He is working till three to four of clock at night. Give Channi a chance to strengthen Punjab.” In Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s rally, PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu seemed upset. Though he was present on the stage, but he refused to address the rally.
