Dharamshala, Palampur, Nagrota to turn as tourism hub-DC Jindal

Dharamsala, Jan 18 (UNI) A plan is being prepared to develop Dharamsala, Palampur, Nagrota Bagwan from the point of view of tourism and for this, the Asian Development Bank is also preparing an action plan through the tourism department.

Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal told UNI that the plan was discussed in a meeting presided over by him with the Tourism Department and Sub-Divisional Officers on Tuesday.
He said that a plan is being prepared for construction of Dharamshala Convention Center and Budva Theme Park, for this guidelines have also been given to complete the process of land selection.
He said that Palampur region also has immense potential for tourism, on this basis a plan for tourism development is being prepared. He said that directions have been given to the concerned sub-divisional officers and municipal officers to select the land for various tourism projects and to finalize the action plan according to the needs of tourism.

He said that emphasis would be laid on developing neugal cafes in Palampur, beautification of Saurabh Van Vihar, amusement park at Mainjha so that tourists coming towards Palampur can stay for a day or two. He said that a suitable action plan is also being prepared for better parking facilities in and around Palampur city so that tourists including local people do not have to face any kind of traffic jam.
