Fortified rice to tackle anaemia in MP district

Bhopal, July 6 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government on Tuesday decided to conduct a pilot scheme for distributing fortified rice – under the Centre’s Targeted Public Distribution System – in Singrauli District to combat anaemia and micronutrient deficiency, it was officially learnt.
The related Cabinet meeting was conducted at Mantralaya with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Chair.
The rice will be bolstered with iron, folic acid and Vitamin B-12. It shall be supplied at Re 1 per kg. This scheme will be operational until 2022-23.
